Picture Books

My illustrations combine pen and ink drawing, watercolor, pastel, and monotype printing, along with rare art papers and translucent vellum in a rainbow array of colors.

THE BEAUTIFUL FIRE tells the story of a fire that comes to life in a fireplace on a cold winter morning.

DOWN THE STAIRS follows a boy who wakes up feeling bad and goes down to his family’s basement (and down, and down, and down).

SUSAN SLIPPERthe first of a series, is a modern fairy tale about an adopted girl named Susan. She has a closet full of slippers—each with a different  magical power.

When I'm not drawing ...

I’m a graduate student in the Committee on Social Thought at the University of Chicago, studying ancient epics and modern theories of dreaming.

I’ve freelanced in digital film production, researched medieval illuminated manuscripts as an undergrad at Yale, and written audio guides for art exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the MoMA.
